School Community Council Minutes

1. Welcome: In attendance: Charity Moore, Trisha Duersch, Kelsey Krebs, Kilee Kelly,  Alan Grunig (school board) Absent: Holly Penrose, Savannah Niemann

1. Charity Moore called the meeting to order and Kilee seconded the motion. 

1. Notification of SCC Members
   1. School Council Members 2026-27
   2. Nomination and selection of a chair and vice-chair
      1. Kilee was nominated and approved to be the chair and Savannah is going to be the vice-chair. 
2. Contact Information for School Website 
3. Review Meeting Schedule

2. New Business
   1. Introductions and Contact info
      1. Trish introduced everyone and confirmed what information each parent felt comfortable having posted on the website. 
   2. SCC Handbook- Hard Copy  
   3. Rules of Order and Procedures
      1. We reviewed and revised any of the rules and regulations that need to be changed. Trish read through the rules of order. 
         1. We updated the information about who appoints the unfilled council seats. 
      2. Kilee said that we should educate people about the purpose of the school community council. She recommended that we nominate and have the new members appointed before spring break. 
      3. Trish suggested making a video for parents to watch that explains what the council is for. 
      4. Charity motioned to approve the revised rules of order and Kilee seconded the motion.
   4. Overview of TSSA and LAND Trust Spending
      1. Trish discussed how a lot of the funding goes to help with the paraprofessionals in our school. 
      2. Alan mentioned that the state is being very picky about how we submit the information about how we submit the forms for the TSSA and LAND Trust Spending. He was not certain about when it is supposed to be done, but it is usually done in the spring. Alan will look it over and make sure it is done in May.
      3. With the new bill 50% of the money needs to be going to help with reading.  
   5. Annual District Land Trust Training
      1. We are not sure when it will be, but it is usually an online meeting. 
   6. Other
      1. The district meetings will be run differently. Tim Smith is the deputy superintendent and that he is in charge of the advisory committee. 
         1. Savannah and Kelsey said they could both go to the meetings. 
         2. We think it could be November, January and February for those meetings.
3. Adjournment: Savannah motioned to adjourn and Kilee seconded.
